SJE Arts International Piano Series

SJE Arts International Piano Series is an annual programme of concerts with the aim to bring interesting pianists to our Oxford audience. The idea developed when a generous grant from the Wolfson Foundation helped us to purchase a fine Steinway model D piano.

Launched in 2014, the Series is now well established in Oxford and much further afield. Past performers include John Lill, Joaquín Achúcarro, Tom Poster, Angela Hewitt, Freddy Kempf, Yevgeny Sudbin, Barry Douglas, Stephen Hough, Benjamin Grosvenor, Steven Osborne, Javier Perianes, Inon Barnatan, Martin James Bartlett, Eric Lu and Federico Colli. We also have the occasional duo or ensemble, for instance Alina Ibragimova, violin, and Cédric Tiberghien, piano. Particularly exciting was the summer of 2017, when Alexander Ullman performed in the Series and only a few weeks later took first prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition.

The Series normally runs from the beginning of the year through to June and season tickets are available at a considerable discount as well as tickets to individual events.
